MBBR Rental for Plant Upgrades

Maintain compliant treatment while your existing plant is rebuilt, retrofitted or expanded. A rental MBBR bridges the works so discharge is never interrupted.

Upgrading a treatment plant often means taking part of it offline — but the wastewater keeps coming. A rental MBBR provides interim biological treatment during the works, so you can retrofit, rebuild or expand the permanent plant without breaching discharge limits. When the upgrade is complete, the rental unit is removed.

Bridging the works

Because a rental MBBR is containerized and quick to commission, it can carry treatment while a basin is emptied, a process is converted, or new capacity is built. This is particularly useful for activated-sludge-to-MBBR conversions and capacity upgrades, where the existing process must pause during the changeover.

The interim capacity, duration and interface with the upgrade programme are planned together during the engineering review, alongside our retrofit resources.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why rent treatment during an upgrade?
Upgrades often require taking treatment offline, but discharge limits still apply. A rental MBBR maintains compliant treatment through the works, then is removed once the permanent plant is back in service.
Does this suit activated-sludge conversions?
Yes. Converting an activated-sludge plant to MBBR usually means pausing the existing process. Interim rental treatment bridges that changeover so operation continues.
How is the interim capacity decided?
It is planned against your flow, load and the upgrade programme during the engineering review, so the rental covers the works period and interfaces cleanly with the permanent solution.
